UNCLE PRENTICE wrote:David, I hate to mention it; but fox won't turn loose of personal messaging in his posts. In the 911 conspiraracy thread on Bap Faith and Practice, After I post an objective opinion; fox follows immediately with a personal attack (I believe mis-interpreting your directions) saying that I'm not to post after him, and that I am to have no word to say about any of his heroes. Please look at these posts (about number 2 and 3 posts in this thread) and give me a ruling on what fox said here. Then advise either of us who is not complying to the covenant. I feel this PM is a much better approach than Steve's public outcry that I have violated the covenant. In my understanding of the limits you imposed on us; he is the violater here. Thanks for your time in setting us straight on this. I greatly appreciate your support here and hope I won't need to bother you again with this. Prentice. Uncle Prentice: (with Fox, Gourley, Pettibone,
and Thornton looking on)
I read both your post and Fox's reply. That of which your nephew, Fox,
accuses you, is untrue. I saw neither a direct reference nor an oblique
reference to him in the post in question. Thus, his public outcry is
unwarranted and he has indeed violated of the covenant.
My ruling is as follows:
- It is permissible for both of you to openly
discuss/debate personalities and issues on any the BaptistLife discussion
forums other than the Prayer Forum. The Prayer Forum is off limits for
debate and discussions that are not considered prayer concerns.
- It is permissible for both of you editorialize
about, offer praise to, and/or criticize any public personality.
- It is not permissible for either of one you to reference the other, either directly or obliquely, in ongoing discussions. (Note to Fox: Uncle Prentice's references to your heroes is NOT the same as making reference to you.)
- If Fox cannot abide by the peace accord and keep the covenant (i.e. not speaking directly to or making indirect scrupulous comments about Uncle Prentice), he will be banned from BaptistLife.Com.
I have removed Fox's post that contains the personal
attack.
Note to Fox:
The BaptistLife family is growing increasingly weary of your attacks
on your Uncle Prentice. There are several who want you to be banned. There
is room for both Foxes on BaptistLife.Com. But we simply will not tolerate
your personal attacks. I have extended abundant grace to you in this
controversy. But the grace is rapidly running out. Please, Fox, don’t make
me call strike three and throw you out of the game.
