Climbing an Oklahoma Mountain

My two daughters, DaLeesa and Dorena,  wanted to climb an Oklahoma mountain on the first day of the new year. The mountain they chose was the Gloss Mountain in Major County. They invited me to join them. Being a devout Arminian Baptist, and possessing free will (i.e. having the capacity to make free will choices), I followed along for the adventure. Together (me being quite a bit slower and much less agile), we ascended the mountain and traversed the trail over the entire length of the somewhat flat mountain.

I've climbed numerous mountains in my 66 years of living on Planet Earth, but  I've never had an occasion to climb a mountain on New Year's Day. It was a cold climb, the temperature being 38* degrees at the top with the wind out of the north at about 20mph. Not bad conditions considering it was 9* warmer than it was on the last day of 2007.

Here are 20 photos for those who might like to see what I did on the first day of 2008...
