Neil Heath is from Forsyth, Ga. He is a retired campus
minister. He and his wife Anne now live in Macon, Ga. where she teaches
school. They have two adult children. They are active members of Highland
Hills Baptist Church in Macon, where they both serve as deacons. Neil also
teaches SS and sings in the choir. He has long been a computer hobbyist,
and also enjoys reading, photography, and carpentry. He likes learning new
things, and would love to travel if he can ever find the money...
A 1972 graduate of Mercer University and a 1976 grad of Southern Baptist
Theological Seminary, he served for almost 30 years as a campus minister
with the Georgia Baptist Convention. During those years he served one to
four campuses at a time, covering many, if not all, of the combinations of
public and private, two and four year, commuter and residential. He worked
on ten campuses in Georgia before retiring in June of 2006 He still loves
to be with students, who keep you young, and does not plan to grow up if he
can avoid it.
In retirement he volunteers building houses with the local Habitat chapter
and repairing homes with Rebuilding Together. He also does tech support for
his church, his friends, and ministry groups who have "issues" with their
computers. When not on the BaptistLife forums, the rest of his time is
spent on the long list of tasks around his own house that never got done
when he was off playing with college students.
